We hear it all the time:
Attitude is everything. I just moved into a place in the city and the (temporary) landlord is getting frustrated with RCN, the Cable Guys. She calls and yells and complains…this de-motivates the customer service rep…puts them on the defensive…saps their energy.
I tell her: “No matter what, you gotta stay positive…nothing will change for the better if you don’t…”
True with RCN, true in your job search. People don’t care if you’re right, they care how you feel…which leads to how you make THEM feel, which is all they really care about…which results in a job offer…or not. Tom Peters put it best: “People like to do business with people who like to do business…” Show that you like to do business; that you like who you are, and things come around…they fall into place. Stay patient, stay at it, be positive, things WILL change for the better. ALWAYS! Steve P.
